Deepika Padukone to don three different looks this year
Deepika Padukone has charming beauty and when it comes to experimenting with new looks, she is not the one to shy away. Her looks have won her appreciation from the critics and helped her reign in the hearts of her million fans. However, this year she is ready to take her experiments with looks a notch higher. We hear that in the upcoming 3 movies of the actress this year, she will be sporting 3 completely different looks. The three movies in discussion are ‘Ye Jawani Hai Deewani’, ‘Ram Leela’ and ‘Chennai Express’.
The movie ‘Ye Jawani Hai Deewani’ is directed by Ayan Mukherji and the lead actor of the film is none other than Deepika’s ex flame, Ranbir Kapoor. The hot Deepika is seen wearing a transparent black saree in the movie poster along with a revealing black blouse. It seems she is ready once again to scorch the silver screen in this movie. It is also said that she will be wearing spectacles for the first time onscreen in this movie. Who says spectacled girls cannot be sexy? Deepika will surely prove them wrong. We wait impatiently for the movie to release on 31st May this year.
‘Ram Leela’ is the second film in which she is going to don a new getup. The film is a magnum opus from the veteran director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film is said to be an Indian adaptation of the epic love novel by Shakespeare, ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The director has set up the story on the background of Gujrat and Deepika plays the role of a rustic Gujrati girl. Naturally her looks are of a village belle. She is heard to wear a lehenga of 30 Kg and it has a ‘gher’ of almost 50 meters. It seems Sanjay is not going to keep any stones unturned for creating the look he has envisioned for Deepika. The movie releases on 29th November 2013.
The third film in a row is the ‘Chennai Express’ starring Shah Rukh Khan. The movie narrates the tale of a man’s journey from Mumbai city to Rameshwaram. Deepika plays his love interest in the film. The fun adventure film is directed by Rohit Shetty. He has given a stunning make over to Deepika. In this movie she will be seen wearing a shirt and a lungi. Hang on; even if that is not enough she is wearing a designer belt to hold her lungi. We already cannot hold back our laughs any longer. No doubt Rohit is doing a good job.
Lehnga or langa, (also known as Ghagra or gagra, Chaniya, Pavadai and Lacha) is a form of full ankle-length skirt worn by women from India which is long, embroidered and pleated. It was worn in old Hindu tradition and was believed to awaken the spiritual chakras of the body. It is worn as the bottom portion of a Gagra choli or Langa Voni. It is secured at the waist and leaves the lower back and midriff bare. In the Indian subcontinent, various types of traditional embroidery work are done on lehenga, with Gota patti embroidery being one of popular types for the festivals and weddings. In the earlier times, girls would wear Ghagra-choli. Today, this attire has become outdated. Even then, in States like Gujarat and Rajasthan, young girls and women still wear lehnga; it is the traditional dress of women belonging to the Bettiah Christian community of Champaran and is also worn by Marwari women. Lehnga is one of the appropriate garments as per the Hindu culture and considered a sattvik garment at the spiritual level as well.
