Race 2 to have massive international release on January 25
Abbas-Mustan’s multi-starrer will release in over 50 countries including Morocco, Myanmar, East Timor, Maldives and Vietnam
Director duo Abbas-Mustan’s action-thriller Race 2 is set to release in more than 50 countries, including Morocco and Vietnam, on January 25. “We have planned a massive international release for Race 2 in more than 50 countries. After many years, a Hindi movie will see a simultaneous release in Morocco in four to five screens, including theatres in Casablanca and Marrakech,” said Amrita Pandey, Executive Director, Syndication, International Distribution and Disney Media Distribution, Studios, Disney UTV.
“Newer territories like Myanmar, East Timor, Maldives and Vietnam (with as many as seven screens) are also in our release plan. There is very high anticipation and for this sequel from the ‘Race’ franchise, and we are excited!” Pandey added in a statement.
Co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and TIPS Industries, “Race 2 is the sequel to 2008 film Race. The film features Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel in prominent roles.
Abbas and Mustan Burmawalla are brothers known for directing stylish suspense, action and romantic thrillers in Bollywood with dark-lighted themes. The duo directed Bollywood films like Khiladi, Baazigar, Soldier, Ajnabee, Baadshah, Aitraaz, Humraaz, 36 China Town, Race, Race 2 and comedian Kapil Sharma’s debut movie Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. They have prominently worked with the production house Venus Worldwide Entertainment and Tips Films.
Ameesha Patel (born Amisha Amit Patel on June 9, 1975) is an Indian actress and model who predominantly appears in Bollywood films. She has also appeared in a few Telugu films and one Tamil film. She has won a Filmfare Award.
Patel made her acting debut in the romantic thriller blockbuster Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. She rose to prominence by featuring in top grossing productions- Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema, earning her a Filmfare Special Performance Award, Humraaz (2002) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007).
